Formerly known as GaragePunk Pirate Radio (2005–2015) and born of the original GaragePunk Forums message board at GaragePunk.com, Radio Mutation is a podcast network of DJ-hosted music shows featuring wild and untamed garage rock, punk, surf/instro, rockabilly, primitive R&B, power pop, swamp rock, proto-punk, post-punk, psychedelic rock, broken blues… basically all styles of gritty, desperate, REAL rock ‘n’ roll. All of them low-budget productions, independently produced and non-commercial (that means we make no money whatsoever from this endeavor). Oh, and did we mention our shows are entertaining as hell? It’s true! Loads of personality and, just like the Young Lions Conspiracy*, a heaping helping of Integrity, Soul, and Attitude. Not to mention hours upon hours of great rock ‘n’ roll that you will simply not hear anywhere else.
Radio Mutation isn’t famous, and we’re anything but hip. We purposely fly under the radar. We do minimal promotion (limited mainly to our social media accounts) with the understanding that those who want to find us, will. We’ve never won any prestigious awards, found the cure for cancer, or saved the world from the imminent threat of the New World Order, but we ARE doing our part to preserve rock ‘n’ roll for future generations. You can help us out with this by becoming a supporter or by simply subscribing to our podcast feed. You decide!
As podcasting is a sort of mutation of radio broadcasting, our programs feature mutations of rock ‘n’ roll that are largely ignored by the mainstream. Dig in and dig it!

Send Us Your Music!
Bands, labels, and “musicians” are welcome to share their music with our team of Radio Mutation podcasters, and, who knows, maybe get some virtual “spins” on one or more of our shows.
Bands (or labels who don’t do the digital online promotion thing) can submit your stuff to us via our Drop Box below. Please do NOT email us your songs. Email sucks. Instead, click on the “Add Files” button below to upload your songs for us. NOTE: Max file size is 25mb, so please make sure you’re sending us MP3s, not WAVs or any other file format.
Labels: If you do digital online promotion via download from your website, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with instructions on how we can be granted access to your promotional materials.
That’s it! That’s all ya gotta do.
P.S. Please don’t forget to include the NAME of the band/artist and the SONG TITLE, where you’re from, etc. in the “Additional Information” section… A brief description of who you are and where you’re from is always a good idea when requesting plays.
Bands and labels should also consider submitting their music to one of the sites listed below. These sites are specifically set up to provide podcasters like us with access to “podsafe” music (royalty-free music for podcasts).
Feedback about a particular Radio Mutation podcast episode can be left directly on the blog posting for that show. Just find the show & episode you’re looking for (check the menus on the sidebar on the right or use the SEARCH bar), click the Comments link at the bottom of the post, and enter your feedback. All feedback is read and usually answered promptly by that show’s host. Episode posts usually also contain links to the host’s website or social media pages, so you may also use those to leave them a comment or send them a message, too.
Email concerns may be directed to info (at) radiomutation.com and will be forwarded to the appropriate recipient for a reply.
The music featured on our podcasts is a sampling of really great songs from records or digital releases that we want people to discover and hear. The music included is for evaluation purposes only under the Fair Use doctrine (that the music is being featured not to give people free copies of songs or to negatively effect a release’s market share or sales, but is used for a limited and “transformative” purpose, like criticizing, commenting, parodying, news reporting, or teaching the copyrighted work, which are all permissible under US copyright law). We hope that our listeners will seek out and BUY this music! Support the bands and labels putting it out, otherwise there’d be nothing to play. All tracks are posted out of love and the desire to share and expose our listeners and subscribers to great, under-appreciated rock’n’roll (and many are sent to us for promotional purposes by the bands and labels themselves).
If you are the copyright holder of any song posted here and have a problem with us including your song on one of our shows, please contact us if you would like the song removed (in the entire 11+ years of doing this podcast, this has happened exactly ONCE). Thank you.
